Final day wearing the L’Oréal Infallible Matte foundation.
- I washed my face using Murad C cleanser, and then moisturized it with Rose day cream from Aldi.
- I then applied L’Oréal Infallible Matte foundation without primer, and using a flat top kabuki brush.
- Run down of my day was; Cleaning, walking around town and chasing after my hyperactive 2 year old.
- It is now 11pm and I am about to wash my foundation off. I can see it has stayed perfect, as if I had just applied it.
OVERVIEW OF L’Oréal Infallible Matte Foundation & Primer.
I found that this primer broke me out in a rash the times I used it, hence why I tried different methods instead. I found this very unusual for me, as I am not allergic to anything. The primer is supposed to be NON-COMEDOGENIC, which is the following;
In order to understand what “non-comedogenic” means, it may be helpful to break the word down. A comedo (or comedones, if more than one) is a type of pimple, or lesion that can form on your skin. Pimples differ according to their appearance and what causes them.
A comedo, the least severe form of acne, is the result of a clogged pore. Pores are the tiny openings in your skin that you can see when you look very closely, especially in a magnifying mirror. Inside those pores are hair follicles — sacs beneath the skin that house the hair root — and that’s where pimples begin. When your body produces excess sebum, it can combine with dead skin cells and sometimes bacteria to plug up the pore. The result is a pimple — a comedo. If the comedo is closed at the skin’s surface, it’s called a whitehead. When it’s open at the skin’s surface, and you can see the plugged follicle darkened by melanin buildup, it’s called a blackhead.
Non-comedogenic cleansers are typically oil-free. They break down the excess oils on your skin but don’t strip your skin of the necessary moisture and nutrients it needs. They are also sometimes called non-acnegenic cleansers.
One thing to keep in mind is that there aren’t really any regulations specifying what a company has to do to call its cleansers “non-comedogenic,” and products labeled that way may not work for everyone. Keep reading to find out what types of ingredients typically go into non-comedogenic cleansers so you can narrow down which one might work best for you.
I was so unimpressed by this primer, I actually complained to L’Oréal, which is very unlike me. I felt I had to bring it to their attention, as I know a few people it has happened to as well.
I felt this primer didn’t really go well with the L’Oréal Infallible foundation either, as it seemed to separate the product on my face.
I really enjoyed wearing this foundation, I felt it really stayed matte, no matter what I was doing. It didn’t budge all day. I tested it using so many methods, using different primers, different moisturizers, and the only one that didn’t agree with it was the L’Oréal Infallible Mattifying Base Primer.
OVERVIEW:
I wouldn’t recommend the primer, as I felt it wasn’t great for hiding pores or blurring them out, I found it enhanced them more so. It also made the foundation disperse and not sit well on the skin. I also had a reaction which is very unlike me.
I however would recommend the foundation, except if you are having a breakout, as you should know yourselves, it will enhance any face demons! I felt it was very long lasting, and I have tested it up to 12 hour wears. It stayed matte, and usually I get super oily on my T-Zone! It stayed flawless on. I would highly recommend purchasing it. It is currently 3 for 2 in superdrug at the moment, and if you have a beauty card you can get 10% off too!
I hope I didn’t bore you on this post, but I’d like to give my full opinion on it. Have you tried the L’Oréal Primer and liked it? Let me know in the comments!
